164 total entries were received over the 3 days of the 5th Annual Donkey Round Up and, as usual, the structure provided for a wealth of play for the players. A huge disparity in the average chip stack after the 3 flights meant Daniel Hostrup finished the Friday night flight with 290,000 and the chip lead, which he rode to the final table. After a slow start to the final table, a series of 3 hands provided the drama. On a raised pot, Mike Kline and Tom Anundson got it all in after a 5Q5 flop. Kline had Anundson covered and had a very powerful AQ - until Anundson rolled over 55 for flopped quads, leaving Kline with 500,000, which was still 13 BB deep. The next hand Hostrup raised to 120,000 and Kline istantly shoved for his 500,000. Hostrup couldn't lay TT down as it appeared Kline could be steaming, but he had JJ. But this was Hostrup's day as the flop came 9T9 and the turn and river brought no J. The very next hand, Tim Jacobs pushed all in for 360,000, Hostrup called as did Dennis Pfau. Dennis shoved for another 400,000 on a 9 high board only to have his QQ run into Hostrup's AA. Jacobs had picked the wrong time to shove with KQ. After that had, Hostrup had 2,500,000 in chips, half of the chips in play. But Anundson took over, busting Matt Hamiltion's 55 with his JJ and then flopping the wheel on Jim Tallakson who flopped top pair. After that hand Anundson had 2,535,000 in chips and Hostrup had 2,505,000 in chips and they did an even chop.
